This may be the last time I get to post before Christmas …
To start, I feel like a big fat jerk. I got into a pretty heated disagreement with my husband because I wanted to be Miss Independent by bringing in some extra income. We both agreed before Ava was born that I would stay home and be with her in lieu of working and the husband would take care of all the bills (including mine). His reasons were mostly for safety reasons and mine were just because I don’t want to miss out on anything in her life. So, in my effort to “help out”, I went out and got a job at a pre-school/daycare … I got a huge discount on child care for Ava, I was getting paid to play with babies, and Ava was getting some socialization with children her age. Needless to say, I only worked there about a week and a half. I have now been sick since my 2nd day there (20 days). To make matters worse, I had to take Ava to the doctor on Friday because of a high fever and congestion. It turns out she has Bronchiolitis and an ear infection and we were sent home with an antibiotic and a machine that I have to give her breathing treatments 4 times a day with = I AM A BIG FAT JERK. I’m not wrong often, but this time I was in a big way. Moving on.
Bennett was released from the hospital yesterday. I am still waiting to hear if his final test results show that the tumor is benign and when the doctors will be able to schedule the surgeries to remove the tumor in his brain. So, please continue to pray for his full recovery.
While you’re at it, please add another prayer request to your list. A couple of days ago, I found out that an old friend of mine, Jules Bennett, was involved in some kind of freak car accident. She has a crushed pelvis on both sides, collapsed lungs, broken ribs, some internal bleeding but the doctors haven’t located where it’s coming from yet, bleeding on her brain and blood coming out of both ears. The doctors can’t do the brain pressure surgery to release the pressure yet, because she is in a coma (not medically induced). The doctors believe she has some severed nerves in her brain and they believe she has damage to her brain stem. They are saying she has a 50% chance of survival. Today she finally had some movement, but the doctors still seem to be sceptical. I am praying that God give her the strength to make it through her injuries and God heal her poor broken body.
Hopefully, I’ll get to post again before Christmas, but for now I’m off to do a Christmas craft with Ava-Bells. Until next time, this has been a real housewife in Houston moment.
